Bola Tinubu's Full Speech For Nigeria's 63rd Anniversary on October 1st

I'm deeply honored to address you today on the occasion of our nation's 63rd Independence Anniversary. As the President of our beloved country, I also stand before you as a fellow Nigerian.

This significant day calls for us to pay homage to our founding figures, whose unwavering dedication and leadership paved the way for the sovereign and independent Nigeria we cherish today, emerging from the shadows of colonialism.

Our commitment lies in ensuring that the advantages of our nation are accessible to everyone, not just the privileged and affluent. To promote economic equity and growth, we have initiated a Tax Reforms Committee aimed at improving tax administration efficiency and rectifying unjust fiscal policies that impede business progress.

In our pursuit of enhancing employment opportunities and urban livelihoods, we are investing in promising ventures, especially in micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. Commencing this month, we are extending cash transfer programs to an additional 15 million vulnerable households, fortifying our social safety net.

The safety and security of our citizens remain our highest priority. We have bolstered inter-agency collaboration and intelligence sharing while entrusting our Service Chiefs with the vital task of rebuilding the capabilities of our security services.

I salute the brave sacrifices made by our security forces in safeguarding our nation and territorial integrity. We honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and pledge to equip our forces adequately.

Our appointments to key positions will be in accordance with constitutional provisions, guided by fairness, and with special consideration for women, youth, and the physically challenged. I commend the National Assembly and the judiciary for their pivotal roles in our democracy.

I express gratitude to our civil society organizations and labor unions for their unwavering commitment to Nigerian democracy. While we may not always see eye to eye, your counsel is highly regarded.

As we step into the future, let us do so with courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment as one united nation. I pledge to remain devoted in serving you and invite all Nigerians to join us in the journey to further enhance our nation. Together, we can, we must, and we will!

Happy 63rd Independence Anniversary to you all, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Thank you for your attention.
