Google's 25th Anniversary Doodle

Today's doodle marks the 25th anniversary of Google, celebrating the theme "A Journey Through Time." In this doodle, the 'oo' in 'Google' cleverly becomes '25.'

Google was introduced on September 27, 1998, by co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page. In honor of this milestone, Google has consistently featured various birthday doodles throughout the years. The most recent one transforms 'Google' into 'G25gle' with a GIF, symbolizing a quarter-century of existence and triggering a confetti display when clicked.

The fate or coincidence brought together doctoral students Sergey Brin and Larry Page at Stanford University in the late 1990s. They shared a vision of improving web accessibility and dedicated themselves to creating a better search engine from their dorm rooms. As their project progressed, they moved to Google's first office—a rented garage, officially establishing Google Inc. on September 27, 1998.

Over 25 years, Google has transformed the use of the World Wide Web. In May 2011, Google reached the milestone of one billion monthly unique visitors for the first time, a pivotal moment in its history, and has continued to progress since then.

While acknowledging its profound transformation since 1998, Google emphasizes its unwavering core mission: to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and valuable. Google expresses deep gratitude to its users for evolving alongside them over the past 25 years and looks forward to the future journey.
